Our History
Hillside Pre-School is a local community pre-school charity in the heart of Chorleywood. We were set up in 1979 by our founder, Pat Sullivan.
Pat envisioned a pre-school where parents were very much at the heart of its running. She set up a parent-led committee that governed the pre-school and, together with Pat as the pre-school manager, ensured its successful operation.
This parent-led Committee structure continues today, working closely with the pre-school Manager and the team of highly experienced staff. Combined with being a charity, the committee and staff can focus purely on providing high-quality childcare without the need to make a profit.
We provide a nurturing, dynamic and fun learning environment for families with pre-schoolers aged 2-4 years.
Our experienced staff, with over 80 years of combined service, are well known for developing confident and sociable children ready for when they start school. We are a feeder pre-school to our local primary schools and the friendships our children make during their time at Hillside support them in their transition to primary school and beyond.
